On Sunday, Churachandpur, Manipur, experienced protests and instances of violence a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the town. Local residents gathered to demand the release of two individuals who had been arrested earlier in the week for vandalizing decorations prepared for the Prime Minister’s arrival.
The protests included demonstrations on the streets, an attempt to storm the Churachandpur police station, and instances of crowds reportedly pelting stones at Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel on duty.
