The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is approaching full operational capacity with the anticipated commencement of services at its final station, Sarai Kale Khan. This station’s inauguration is reportedly projected for September 17. Officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) state that the launch of Sarai Kale Khan station will reduce travel time between Sarai Kale Khan and Meerut to under one hour, inclusive of all scheduled halts. The complete 82.15-kilometer corridor is designed to link Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh, incorporating a total of 16 stations. Namo Bharat trains, which operate on this corridor, consist of six coaches each, with 30 such trainsets currently running between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. These trains are capable of a maximum operational speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
