Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conducted an inspection of ongoing development projects in the Hadapsar-Mundhwa area near Pune on Sunday. During his visit, residents expressed significant concerns regarding persistent traffic congestion in the region. One resident suggested that Mr. Pawar adopt a direct approach to traffic review, similar to former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Mr. Pawar acknowledged the complaints, attributing some of the issues to a jurisdictional challenge between the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). He subsequently engaged with officials to discuss these matters and the progress of bridge work in Mundhwa-Keshavnagar, as well as traffic solutions for Kondhwa Chowk and Gadital Chowk in Hadapsar.
Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram later confirmed the Deputy Chief Minister’s inspection of works in the Mundhwa-Keshavnagar area and stated that the issues raised by citizens are currently under review.
