Hyderabad's Lok Adalat Facilitates Millions in Cybercrime Refunds

The third National Lok Adalat in Hyderabad facilitated refunds totaling ₹9.29 crores for victims across 941 cybercrime cases. Of this, the Cyber Crimes Police Station (CCPS) processed ₹7.7 crores, while Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCCs) accounted for ₹1.5 crores. ZCCs have shown consistent improvement over three Lok Adalats, achieving a cumulative total of ₹2.81 crores. Hyderabad police data from March to September 2025 indicates a 137% increase in cases handled and a 187% growth in refunds. The event also resulted in the disposal of 1,977 First Information Reports (FIRs), 21,394 E-petty cases, and 3,803 traffic violation cases. Hyderabad’s judicial framework includes 17 morning courts for specific matters and 13 Chief Judicial Magistrate courts for compoundable cases, ensuring swift adjudication. Additionally, courts, in coordination with cybercrime police and as directed by the Sessions Judge, continue to process smaller refund cases under ₹25,000 daily.
