Nigel Farage Admits Parliamentary Rule Breach Over U.S. Event Registration

Nigel Farage has acknowledged a breach of parliamentary rules stemming from his failure to register a trip to Florida. The visit involved headlining a fundraising event for Donald Trump, organized by the Republican party on March 20 in Tallahassee. Mr. Farage attributed the non-declaration in parliamentary transparency logs to an error by his office, stating he had submitted details of the journey internally.

In his statement, Mr. Farage confirmed the trip was “remunerated in three separate instalments over the course of two months” but did not disclose the identity of the payer. This event coincided with Mr. Farage missing Prime Minister’s Questions the day prior. Following these revelations, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper called for enhanced transparency regarding the funding sources for Mr. Farage’s international engagements.
