Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu has announced that the Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is scheduled for inauguration on October 30. Following the inauguration, flights are projected to commence operations within 45 days.
Positioned as the second major airport for the Delhi-NCR region, the facility aims to alleviate pressure on the Indira Gandhi International Airport and enhance regional air connectivity. Initially, the airport is expected to establish links with 10 major cities, including metropolitan centers such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
The airport is being developed as a four-phase project, with the first phase representing an initial investment exceeding Rs 10,000 crore.
