Two prominent Shiv Sena leaders, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, led a protest march in Mumbai on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The march was organized against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The protest, named the Virat Garjana Morcha, began at Metro Cinema and proceeded towards the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters. Participants voiced demands for the resignation or removal of the CEC, citing alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Leaders from the Congress and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) also joined the demonstration. Organizers stipulated that only the national tricolour could be carried, with party flags prohibited.
