Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently addressed an event in Chennai, where he acknowledged Tamil Nadu’s advancements in education, nutrition, and sports. He specifically highlighted several of Tamil Nadu’s welfare initiatives, including the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme, the Tamil Pudhalvan scheme, the Pudumai Penn scheme, the Naan Mudhalvan scheme, and the Tamil Nadu Vidiyal Payana Thittam (free bus ride for women). During his address, Mr. Reddy announced Telangana’s intention to introduce a school breakfast scheme, drawing inspiration from Tamil Nadu’s existing program. He also noted similarities between the two states’ policies regarding social justice and investment in education.

Mr. Stalin also spoke about the historical context of education in Tamil society, attributing progress in educational access to the efforts of reformers, revolutionaries, and the Dravidian Movement.
