US Representative Michael McCaul (R-Texas) announced on Sunday that he will not seek re-election for his Texas seat next year. The longtime Republican lawmaker, who has focused on foreign policy throughout his career, confirmed he will serve the remainder of his current term, which concludes in 2026.
McCaul’s past roles include serving as chair of the House of Representatives’ Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs committees. He is also known for advocating US military support for both Israel and for Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russian forces.
