Utah Governor Spencer Cox on Sunday provided updates regarding the investigation into the killing of a Turning Point USA executive director. Cox stated that the 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, is not cooperating with authorities. The governor disclosed that Robinson was living with and in a relationship with an individual “transitioning from male to female,” though he emphasized that officials have not yet determined if this status was a factor in the killing. Cox also noted that while Robinson comes from a conservative family, his personal ideology was described as “very different” from his family’s.

Investigators are reportedly gathering information from Robinson’s family members and associates, and are also examining a potential note left by Robinson, which is undergoing verification for accuracy. Formal charges against Robinson are anticipated to be filed soon, with an expected timeline of Tuesday. Governor Cox cautioned that he had not reviewed all interview transcripts and urged patience for further details to emerge.
