Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has publicly challenged Indian Men’s T20I cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav to donate the earnings from the recent Asia Cup India-Pakistan cricket match. Bharadwaj suggested these proceeds should be given to the “widows of Pahalgam.”
Speaking to reporters, Bharadwaj criticized Yadav’s previous dedications of match victories to martyrs, implying such statements were superficial without accompanying financial contributions. He further questioned the capacity and willingness of Yadav, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and the International Cricket Council (ICC) to facilitate such a donation, stating that only then would the dedications be considered genuine.
The article also noted that during the post-match events, Yadav was observed walking away without the customary handshake twice—once after the toss and again after the match concluded. Additionally, Pakistan skipper Agha reportedly did not attend the post-match press conference.
