Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Revenue, Stamps and Registration, Anagani Satya Prasad, indicated that a definitive decision on the state's district reorganisation will be announced following consultations with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. His remarks came after a meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) in Amaravati, where extensive discussions took place regarding proposals to improve administrative convenience.
The government has received numerous public proposals, including requests for eight additional districts and new revenue divisions, especially in areas where existing divisions are geographically extensive (up to 125 km). A report from the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) is forthcoming, which will precede the final decision. The GoM also addressed the status of villages impacted by Polavaram submergence. Furthermore, Minister Satya Prasad underscored the coalition government's dedication to transparent governance, noting that public complaints about corruption in registration offices have led to official suspensions.
