The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an action plan to develop 100,000 young entrepreneurs from MEPMA and DWCRA groups across the state, operating under the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ policy. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed this initiative during the virtual inauguration of the Smart Street Vending Market at Mypadu Gate Centre in Nellore.

The Nellore market, established at a cost of ₹7 crore, features 120 state-of-the-art shops housed within 30 modular containers. These facilities are designed to provide permanent business opportunities for street vendors, with allocations made transparently to women and differently-abled individuals. The shops offer modern amenities, including roof-top seating and WiFi connectivity.

Mr. Naidu acknowledged that 120 women in Nellore have transitioned into entrepreneurship through this project, many of whom had been street traders for over 18 years. He further emphasized the necessity for implementing additional innovative ideas to promote entrepreneurship throughout Andhra Pradesh.
