The Karnataka government has transferred responsibility for the execution and monitoring of all arterial, sub-arterial, and major road infrastructure projects previously under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to Bangalore Smart Infrastructure Limited (B-SMILE). This reallocation includes five major projects already transferred, with a collective valuation exceeding ₹2,600 crores. Noteworthy projects among these are specific white topping action plans, the Ejipura Flyover, an elevated rotary flyover at IOC Junction, the Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) at Byppanahalli, and a high-density corridor action plan.
In a related development, Raghavendra Prasad B.G., an officer from the GBA, has been assigned additional charge as Chief Engineer for B-SMILE’s Road Infrastructure Division. According to the government order, the stated objectives for this transfer are to accelerate project completion, enhance oversight, and improve the execution of key corridors.
