A 55-year-old yoga teacher and founder of Sunshine The Yoga Zone in Bengaluru, M Niranjana Murthy, has been arrested following allegations of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student. Police reports indicate that Murthy allegedly committed the assaults on multiple occasions, enticing the student with promises of placements, foreign trips, and medals. The student reportedly joined the yoga center in 2024, with further alleged incidents occurring in August 2025. The accused is also noted for having led the national team 12 times.
