Bihar Assembly Election: Exit Polls Present Diverse Seat Projections Ahead of Results

Ahead of the official declaration of results for the Bihar Assembly election, various exit polls have released a range of seat projections for the contending political alliances. Agencies such as Dainik Bhaskar, Times Now-JVC, News 18, IANS-Matrize, and P-Marq generally forecast the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to secure a majority or lead over the Mahagathbandhan. For instance, Dainik Bhaskar predicted 145-160 seats for the NDA, while Times Now-JVC projected 135-150 seats for the alliance. News 18 and IANS-Matrize similarly indicated a lead for the NDA, with projections of 140-150 and 147-167 seats respectively.

In contrast, the Axis My India Exit Poll, while predicting the NDA to be ahead overall with 121-141 seats compared to Mahagathbandhan's 98-118, specifically projects the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to emerge as the single-largest party. According to Axis My India, RJD is projected to secure 67-76 seats, followed by the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) with 56-62 seats, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 50-56 seats. Today’s Chanakya also forecasted a strong performance for the BJP and its allies, projecting approximately 160 seats. The official results for the Bihar Assembly polls are anticipated to be announced imminently.
