On September 21, 2025, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced several financial provisions aimed at enhancing the resources of community facilitators and educators across the state.

Over 10,000 ‘Vikas Mitras’, who facilitate the delivery of government scheme benefits to Scheduled Castes and Tribes, are designated to receive a one-time allowance of ₹25,000 each for the purchase of tablets, intended to improve their operational effectiveness and data management. Concurrently, their monthly transportation allowance will be increased from ₹1,900 to ₹2,500, and their stationery allowance from ₹900 to ₹1,500.

Additionally, more than 30,000 Shiksha Sevaks and Talimi Markaz workers, responsible for integrating children from Mahadalit, minority, and extremely backward communities into formal school education, will each be provided ₹10,000 for smartphone acquisition. The annual allocation for teaching materials at these centers is also set to rise from ₹3,405 to ₹6,000 per center. These announcements were made weeks before the scheduled Assembly elections in the state.
