A recent political exchange has emerged concerning the role of Generation Z in India’s democracy. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, utilized social media platform X to express his belief that India’s Gen Z would be pivotal in upholding the Constitution and protecting democratic principles. He also committed to supporting them in their opposition to what he termed “vote theft.”
In response, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey publicly criticized Mr. Gandhi’s remarks. Dubey accused Gandhi of misrepresenting the values of young people, asserting that Gen Z is characterized by its rejection of nepotism and corruption, thereby implying a contrast with Gandhi’s characterization.
