BJP Leader Issues Warnings Following Attack on Colleague's Residence

The residence of K. Biju Narayanan, general secretary of the BJP Kalliasseri constituency committee, was subjected to a pre-dawn bomb attack in Cherukkunnu. Kannapuram police subsequently arrived at the scene, where they recovered explosive remnants and deployed a bomb squad.

Following this incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) north secretary Arjun Mavilankandy addressed a protest march in Cherukkunnu. Mavilankandy publicly stated that the BJP would engage in retaliation if individuals responsible for the attack on Narayanan were not apprehended. He warned that the party would not hesitate to enter the homes of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) leaders and “throw bombs,” indicating knowledge of local CPI(M) officials’ residences and their children’s educational institutions.

Mavilankandy also issued a direct warning to the police, emphasizing that arrests must be made to maintain peace in the region. He further asserted that if a situation developed where BJP cadres could not be protected, the party would “take the law in our hands and the judgement will be made in our court of law.”
