BRS Leader Challenges Chief Minister on Hyderabad Urban Development Record

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has issued a public challenge to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, proposing an open debate on Hyderabad's development trajectory under the current Congress government versus the preceding BRS regime. This challenge was made during an event where Mr. Rama Rao unveiled a 'Jubilee Hills Progress Report,' which he stated was intended to inform voters about the developmental work achieved during the BRS government's tenure.

During his remarks, Mr. Rama Rao leveled several criticisms against the current administration, asserting that it had not adequately managed the city's progress over the past two years. He specifically pointed to issues such as increased potholes, continued reliance on water tankers, and a rise in crime rates. Furthermore, he claimed that various projects initiated under the BRS, including the construction of double-bedroom houses and the Hyderabad metro rail, had been either stalled or reversed by the present government. Mr. Rama Rao also alleged that the current administration had demolished thousands of houses via HYDRAA without providing suitable replacement housing and had failed to curb drug-related issues. He invited Chief Minister Reddy to specify the date, time, and location for the proposed debate, while also noting that the BRS, despite perceived provocations, would maintain respectful language out of deference to the Chief Minister's office.
