Chief Justice of India BR Gavai has publicly expressed “immense satisfaction” regarding a judgment on “bulldozer action,” indicating it addressed “human problems.”

Justice Gavai also stated that the tenure of a Chief Justice does not directly influence the efficiency of justice administration. He cited examples of previous Chief Justices, such as Justice UU Lalit and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, noting their significant contributions despite holding the position for shorter periods.

The original ruling, issued in November 2024 by Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, established pan-India guidelines concerning “bulldozer justice,” which the bench reportedly equated with a lawless state.
