During a state visit to Windsor, the US President and First Lady participated in a diplomatic gift exchange with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The President presented King Charles with a replica President Eisenhower Sword, described by Buckingham Palace as symbolizing “profound respect” and the “historical partnership” crucial to winning the Second World War, in addition to representing enduring values and cooperative spirit between the United States and Great Britain.
In return, King Charles and Queen Camilla gifted the First Lady a silver and enamel bowl featuring the queen’s cypher, crafted by Northern Irish artist Cara Murphy, and a personalized Anya Hindmarch handbag. The royal couple also presented the American guests with a silver photograph frame engraved with their joint cyphers. The First Lady, in turn, gifted Queen Camilla a Tiffany & Co vintage 18-carat gold, diamond and ruby flower brooch.
This event reflects a broader tradition of King Charles receiving various gifts from world leaders over the years.
