Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a second-year student from a private medical college in Durgapur, West Bengal, according to PTI news agency reports. The alleged incident occurred on Friday night when the student, reportedly from Jaleswar, Odisha, had gone out for dinner with a friend.
Police reports indicate that three men allegedly followed the students. The victim’s mother alleged that her daughter’s friend subsequently left, and her daughter was then taken to a nearby forest area by the men. The identities of the three arrested individuals have not been released.
