Emergency services personnel sustained injuries following a secondary collision on the A130 in South Benfleet, Essex. The incident occurred while crews were attending an initial crash involving a white Nissan X-Trail at approximately 00:15 GMT. A second vehicle, a white Ford Transit van, subsequently collided at the scene, striking paramedics and off-duty police officers.
Five emergency crew members required hospital treatment, with two reported to be seriously injured. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities have issued an appeal for witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to provide information.
