An Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 in Faridkot has denied the first regular bail application submitted by Gurmeet Singh, who is accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Singh's arrest stemmed from the alleged recovery of commercial quantities of heroin.
His legal representative argued that Singh was falsely implicated, had endured a prolonged period of custody, and asserted that no narcotics had been recovered from him. The advocate also sought bail on the grounds of an anticipated lengthy trial process. The application, filed under Section 483 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, was ultimately rejected by the court.
