The annual film awards ceremony concluded with the announcement of recipients across numerous categories, acknowledging accomplishments in acting, direction, and various technical disciplines. Laapataa Ladies was a prominent honoree, securing awards including Best Film, Best Director for Kiran Rao, and several other recognitions such as Best Screenplay, Best Dialogue, Best Music Album, and Best Costume.
In the leading acting categories, Abhishek Bachchan (for I Want To Talk) and Kartik Aaryan (for Chandu Champion) were jointly recognized as Best Actor Male, while Alia Bhatt (for Jigra) received the award for Best Actor Female. Critics’ awards were bestowed upon Rajkummar Rao (for Srikanth) for Best Actor Male and Pratibha Rannta (for Laapataa Ladies) for Best Actor Female. Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk also earned the Critics’ Award for Best Film.
Special recognition included Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Zeenat Aman and posthumously to Shyam Benegal. The ceremony also featured a stage performance by actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
