The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has formed a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate alleged corruption within the Surendranagar District Collectorate, specifically concerning Change of Land Use (CLU) applications. The ACB filed an FIR on December 23, 2025, against four individuals: Rajendrakumar Mahendra Patel, identified as the former Collector; Deputy Mamlatdar Chandrasinh Bhupatsinh Mori; Clerk Mayur Gohil; and PA to Collector Jayrajsinh Vala. These officials were booked under sections 12, 13(1)(b), and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Concurrently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Rajendrakumar Patel and Chandrasinh Mori. A Special PMLA court in Ahmedabad (Rural) subsequently granted a five-day remand for Mr. Patel on January 2. The newly constituted SIT includes Deputy Director (Admin) Bharti J Pandya, along with other Assistant Directors and Inspectors from various ACB divisions.
