Gurgaon Police Uncover Alleged Counterfeit Medication Operation

Gurgaon police recently conducted a raid on a call center operating from a building in Udyog Vihar Phase-5, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals. Among those apprehended were the alleged owner and four women. Authorities state that the individuals were involved in a scheme to sell counterfeit sex enhancement drugs through misleading advertisements on social media platforms, specifically Instagram and Facebook.

The operation was initiated following technical intelligence gathered by a team led by Inspector Naveen Kumar, under the direction of Assistant Commissioner of Police (cybercrime) Priyanshu Diwan. The investigation reportedly identified mobile numbers used to persuade victims into transferring funds for what were allegedly fake medicines. Interrogations indicated that Piyush Kumar owned the call center and managed the online advertisements. A case has been registered at the Cyber Crime South police station concerning these allegations.
