The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) initiated an enforcement action on Tuesday, September 16, resulting in the sealing of five properties in Zone-1. This measure was taken due to outstanding property tax dues totaling over ₹6 crore, according to officials.
The operation, led by Zonal Taxation Officer Pankaj Kumar, focused on prominent commercial properties in Bestech Cyber Park, Narsinghpur, and an industrial property in Kadipur. Authorities stated that the properties were sealed after owners failed to clear dues despite receiving multiple prior notices and warnings. Specific properties cited included one with ₹78,40,117 in arrears, another with ₹69,03,051, a separate unit owing ₹1,49,80,950, and an industrial/commercial property with the highest outstanding amount of ₹3,34,78,864.
The MCG has urged all property owners, both residential and commercial, to ensure timely payment of their taxes, referencing the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act which mandates annual property tax for all properties within municipal boundaries.
