The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 20 cm, for several sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal. These areas, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar, are expected to experience significant precipitation until October 5. This weather pattern is attributed to a deep depression that has weakened into a depression, currently situated over interior Odisha. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated across most other regions of the state until October 6.
