India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal commented on Friday regarding ongoing protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Jaiswal attributed the unrest to what he described as Pakistan’s “oppressive approach and systemic plundering of resources” in the region. He also condemned reports of “brutalities by Pakistani forces on innocent civilians” during the demonstrations and called for Pakistan to be held accountable for “horrific human rights violations.” India reiterates its position that these territories are under Pakistan’s “forcible and illegal occupation.”
