The Indian Air Force (IAF) officially decommissioned its MiG-21 fighter jet fleet on Friday during a ceremonial farewell held in Chandigarh. This event marked the end of the aircraft’s operational tenure, which spanned approximately six decades since its induction in 1963. The MiG-21 served as India’s first supersonic fighter and interceptor, playing a significant role in various conflicts.
