Indian Railways will implement a revised online ticket reservation system effective October 1. The new protocols establish a staggered booking window for tickets, which generally open 60 days in advance of travel.
Under this system, individual users possessing Aadhar-linked IRCTC accounts will be granted exclusive access to book tickets during the first 15 minutes of the reservation period, commencing at 8:00 a.m. Following this initial priority window, authorized agents will be permitted to begin reservations from 8:10 a.m.
Individual users whose accounts are not linked to Aadhar will be able to access the booking system after the 15-minute mark, approximately 8:15 a.m. Previously, mandatory Aadhar linking applied solely to Tatkal ticket bookings.
