A recent seminar, jointly organized by The Hindu FIC and SRM University in collaboration with the SRK Institute of Technology in Enikepadu, Vijayawada, addressed career opportunities in management, technology, and sciences.

Professor Dharma Theja from the Paari School of Business, SRM University-A.P., underscored the increasing demand for professionals capable of integrating engineering knowledge with strategic decision-making. He cited fields such as banking, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and healthcare as examples where this blend of expertise is crucial. Professor Theja identified diverse career paths, including product managers, project managers, business consultants, and entrepreneurs, as options extending beyond traditional engineering roles. He further emphasized that while initial engineering placements typically offer salaries ranging from ₹3 lakh to ₹6 lakh annually, long-term career success is contingent upon continuous upskilling, management education, and entrepreneurial thinking.

The seminar also aimed to sensitize students to the value of management skills in areas like supply chain operations, business analytics, finance, and data-driven decision-making. Professor Pradeep, also from SRM University-A.P., stated that strong academic records (CGPA scores) facilitate access to top companies, using Microsoft as an example. He concluded that knowledge, skills, and attitude are equally essential for achieving professional success.
