Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appealed for peace in Ladakh on Thursday, September 25, 2025, following an outbreak of violence in Leh. Abdullah attributed the unrest to what he described as a failure by the Lieutenant Governor-led Ladakh administration to implement adequate peace-keeping measures. He also defended the Congress party, stating it is the BJP’s habit to blame others for its own failures, and characterized the Leh violence as an instance of administrative shortcomings. The Chief Minister conveyed sorrow over the reported loss of four lives and multiple injuries, urging the public to avoid unlawful actions and uphold peace, particularly advocating for harmony between Kargil and Leh.
