Police in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, have detained 23-year-old Suraj Kumar Uttam in connection with the alleged murder of his 20-year-old live-in partner, Aakanksha. Investigators reported that the incident occurred on July 21 following a heated argument, during which Uttam allegedly struck Aakanksha’s head against a wall before strangling her. Authorities stated that Uttam subsequently took photographs with the body, concealed it in a bag, and then disposed of it in a river. The alleged motive for the crime was Uttam’s suspicion that Aakanksha was involved with another man.
Uttam, along with an individual identified as Ashish, were reportedly detained and confessed to the murder during police interrogation. According to police, Uttam initially attempted to mislead investigators but confessed after being confronted with phone records detailing his conversations with the victim.
