The Kerala Police cyber operations have initiated coordinated actions to counter the spread of misleading and potentially harmful content on social media platforms concerning assembly elections. These measures come as certain images and information continued to circulate deceptively, despite clarifications from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Kerala. In accordance with legal frameworks, the police aim to prevent the misuse of digital platforms for misinformation, defamation, communal provocation, and content that could disturb public order. A considerable number of URLs have been processed and removed through cooperation with social media intermediaries to address fake news and violations. The State Police reiterated its dedication to ensuring digital platforms are not used to spread false narratives impacting the electoral process and confirmed that strict action will continue against those involved. Citizens are advised to refer to verified and official sources for information.
