The State school science festival is scheduled to take place over four days in Palakkad, commencing on Friday. The event anticipates over 8,000 student participants from 14 districts, competing in categories such as science, social science, mathematics, IT, work experience, and vocational higher secondary expo. Registration will begin at Government Moyan Model Girls Higher Secondary School at 10 a.m. on Friday. General Education Minister V. Sivankutty is slated to inaugurate the festival at 4.30 p.m. at the same location, with Excise Minister M.B. Rajesh presiding over the function.
Preparations include providing vegetarian meals at Government Victoria College, which features a dining hall for 1,000 people, and at the six competition venues. Accommodation for male students will be arranged at Model HS, Pezhumkara, Kannadi HSS, and Palghat Lions School, while female students will be housed at Kanikkamatha HSS, St. Thomas Convent HSS, Olavakode, and St. Sebastian EM School. Approximately 2,250 volunteers will be on duty. The festival will also introduce a history seminar for High School and Higher Secondary School categories. Awards include 700 individual trophies and 100 aggregate trophies, to be presented at Moyan School.
