The 64th Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival recently concluded in Koyilandy after a five-day run, bringing together approximately 13,000 students from 17 sub-districts. The festival featured 319 events across Upper Primary, High School, and Higher Secondary categories, in addition to dedicated Sanskrit and Arabic arts festivals.
The Kozhikode city sub-district emerged as the overall champion, securing 1,000 points. The Chevayur sub-district placed second with 910 points, followed by the Thodannur sub-district in third position with 904 points. Among individual schools, Silver Hills Higher Secondary School achieved the highest score, contributing 428 points to the Chevayur sub-district's total. Its students earned A grades in all 90 events they entered, qualifying for the State school arts festival in nearly 30 items. Memunda HSS placed second among schools with 353 points, and Perambra HSS finished third with 247 points.
Despite recurring allegations of faulty judgment, nepotism, and protests from some contestants, the event garnered significant public interest and attendance.
