Ludhiana AAP Leader's Residence Attacked Amidst Conflicting Motive Claims

An incident involving firing and arson occurred late Saturday at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sukhwinder Singh Shinda in Lehra village, Ludhiana. Shinda reported that at least five assailants fired at his main gate and set his car on fire. He alleged the attack was a reprisal for his vocal stance against drug peddlers in the village, identifying Kuldeep Singh as involved in the drug trade.

Ludhiana Police, however, are investigating personal rivalry as a potential motive, citing a previous altercation between Shinda and Kuldeep Singh, according to ACP (South) Harjinder Singh. An FIR has been registered at Dehlon police station for attempted murder and other offenses against Kuldeep Singh and four unidentified associates. Police also noted that Kuldeep Singh faces charges in two prior cases, including one for illegal weapons possession.
