Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday (October 27, 2025) addressed several key issues, including the nature of political alliances, opposition criticism, and a local land dispute.
The Chief Minister stated that "friends are not crutches," a comment made within the context of his three-party alliance government. He also criticized opposition parties for "politicising" the suicide of a woman doctor in Phaltan, Satara district, affirming that accountability would be ensured in the case.
Fadnavis further dismissed opposition doubts concerning electoral rolls as a tactic ahead of upcoming elections, asserting that the opposition had failed to provide evidence of "double voting" and had not previously raised objections to the rolls.
Regarding a 3.5-acre property in Pune's Model Colony, housing a Jain boarding facility, the Chief Minister clarified that the government's stance aligned with the Jain community's wishes in a dispute involving private developer Gokhale Constructions. He also contended that Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol's name had been "unnecessarily dragged" into the issue for local electoral gains, following the developer's acquisition of the property and subsequent community objections.
