Grant Hunter, 34, has pleaded guilty to the murder of 38-year-old Marc Webley, following a fatal shooting in Edinburgh on New Year's Eve 2023. The incident took place outside the Anchor Inn in Granton.

According to the indictment against Hunter, the murder was "aggravated by a connection with serious organised crime." In the days leading up to his death, Webley had made social media posts challenging rivals and had a previous conviction for attempted murder in 2005.

CCTV footage presented in court showed Hunter approaching Webley and another individual, Stuart Pearson, before firing a gun. Webley, who was wearing a stab vest, was shot in the back and later succumbed to his injuries. Furthermore, Emma McVie, 27, and Gary Robertson, 22, also pleaded guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh to attempting to pervert the course of justice in connection with the case.
