This event occurs amidst a documented rise in antisemitic incidents across Britain, Europe, and the United States over the past two years, following the Hamas attack on civilians in Israel and the subsequent Israeli military campaign in Gaza. While previous terrorist plots targeting Jewish individuals and places of worship in Britain have been thwarted by police, direct acts of violence at synagogues had not recently occurred.
