Nitish Kumar has been elected as the leader of the Janata Dal (United) legislature party following a meeting of the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly. This development positions him to lead the formation of the new government in Bihar.
Mr. Kumar is scheduled to take oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the 10th time on Thursday at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. The formation of the new government under his leadership in the state is anticipated on November 20.
JD(U) working national president Sanjay Jha stated that after his election as the JD(U) legislature party leader, Mr. Kumar is also expected to be formally chosen as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during an upcoming meeting of the five-party alliance.
