A Zilla Parishad (ZP) school teacher in Palghar was transferred with immediate effect on Thursday, following allegations of striking students. The incident reportedly occurred on November 14 in the Jambulmatha area of Jawhar taluka, where the teacher allegedly slapped six boys who returned late after being sent to fetch water from a source approximately one kilometer distant. The students subsequently ran into a nearby jungle. Following an inquiry by the school education department, a separate notice has also been issued to the school, requesting an explanation for the practice of sending students to fetch water.
