A stabbing incident occurred on Thursday evening in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, leading to the death of Laxmi Narayan Singh, also known as L N Singh, who police identified as a freelance journalist. According to police, the altercation arose from an existing dispute between Singh and the accused, Vishal Kumar, which reportedly resurfaced when they encountered each other in the Civil Lines area.
Authorities stated that during the confrontation, Kumar reportedly used a knife to attack Singh. Hours after the incident, police located Kumar in the Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj. A subsequent shootout occurred, resulting in Kumar sustaining a bullet injury to his leg. He was apprehended and transported to a hospital, where his condition has been reported as stable. Kumar is currently under police supervision, and officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Ajay Pal, noted that eyewitness statements confirm his involvement in the incident.
