Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a 300-megawatt (MW) solar power plant located in Ramagiri, Sri Sathya Sai district. Developed by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) across 1,047 acres, the facility represents a new addition to the region’s energy infrastructure. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad presided over the program, noting that Andhra Pradesh currently generates approximately 5,000 MW of solar power. Mr. Prasad projected that the Ramagiri project is expected to contribute to increasing the state’s total solar power production to 10,000 MW. He also cited the project’s potential for generating employment opportunities for local youth and contributing to community welfare programs, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development within the region. Commemorative plaques were unveiled by the Collector alongside SECI officials during the event.
