Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan has announced a public holiday for October 3 across the union territory. This declaration will result in the closure of all state government offices, public sector undertakings, and educational institutions, including professional colleges. The announcement, confirmed by Under Secretary to the Puducherry government (Home) MV Hiran, applies to all four regions: Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. As a compensatory measure, these government entities and educational institutions are scheduled to operate on October 25.
