A recent hydrological report details the current water levels, inflows, and discharges for the Mullaperiyar and Vaigai dams, in addition to rainfall data collected across several locations. This information reflects the status as of 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The Mullaperiyar dam registered a water level of 139.35 feet, with its maximum permissible level set at 142 feet. It experienced an inflow of 11,892 cusecs and a discharge of 1,400 cusecs. Meanwhile, the Vaigai dam’s water level was recorded at 67.09 feet, with a maximum capacity of 71 feet, noting an inflow of 5,516 cusecs and a discharge of 1,349 cusecs.
The combined storage within the Periyar credit system totaled 9,814.59 million cubic feet (mcft). Rainfall over the 24-hour period ending Sunday morning varied regionally, with notable figures including Gudalur at 41.4 mm, Elumalai at 33.4 mm, and Thekkadi at 26.4 mm.
