The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued forecasts detailing significant weather developments across multiple Indian states. In Maharashtra, the state’s emergency operations centre has advised caution, anticipating heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts through September 30, 2025. Concurrently, Telangana has experienced substantial precipitation, leading to the relocation of approximately 1,500 residents from low-lying areas due to the Musi river reaching flood levels.
Additionally, the IMD predicts the likely formation of a new low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal on October 1, 2025. This system is expected to bring rainfall to numerous regions over the subsequent seven days, with isolated heavy downpours anticipated in specific districts of south Bengal.
